Petroleum exploration in North Sea during the last decade has become
of great importance. An attempt is made to discribe the geological characteristics
of this region. Informations are given about petroleum and gas reserves
of this area until mid 1976. Finally a comparision is made between these reserves
and those situated in other parts of the world such as the United States
, Soviet union, Persian Gulf area, ••• etc.
