Effect of coagulants and aid coagulants on color removal of textile-dye wastes

Abstract

The textile industry has long been one of the largest of water users and
nolluters and there has been little success in developing low cost treatment
methods , which the industry urgently needs to lessen the pollution
loads it discharges to streams.
The obiective of this preparatory
study was to determinen the effects o f
coagulants and aid coagulant s as Alum,
Ferrous Sulfate , ferric sulfate , ferric
chloride, copper sulfate , magnesium
oxide, lime, Semnan bentonite clay ,U.S .
montmorlyte clay, chlorine and a Inoionic
polyelectrolyte on colour removal
of textile-dye waste.
The results presented in this study
indicated that generally cannot introduce
a specific coagulant for color
removal of textile wastewater. Each
coagulant, when used with a specific
waste, has its own optimum isoelectric
point which must be determined experimentally.
