Variation of Specific Scintillation of Electron
Produced by Collision of Alpha Particles
with the Rare Gases
Abstract
In order to study the specific scintillation and specific ionization of rare gases, a special
chamber was designed . The value of specific scintillation and specific ionization were measured
simultanously. The curves of varition of these two versus the length of the trajectory of alpha
particle. were compared with each other.
The experiment shows that, these curves are almost similar. In another experiment while
applying an electric field, with the different intensities for every small element of trajectory the
specific ionization of alpha particles was measured, and various curves were compared with
each other.
