Zinc Distribution Model in Wall rocks of Emarat Ph-Zn Mine

Abstract

The Emarat Pb-Zn mine is located at about
80 Km south of the city of Arak , Iran. I the
present mine-scale litho geochemical survey 56
hanging wall samples and 37 footwall samples
were taken form exploratory tunnels, drillholes
and open pit All samples were taken in the range
of 0-40 m from Pb-Zn veins. The relationship
between three variables including concentration of
Zn in wallwork, distance from vein, and thickness
of the veins were investigated by plotting two sorts
of scatter diagrams: (a) plotting concentrarton
versus distance for each samp1e while the
thickness is constant; (b) Plotting thickness versus
distance for each sample while the concentration
is constant.
The Zn distribution model in footwall land
hangingwall show the same trend, with about four
times higher concentrations in footwall. The Zn
distribution model curves ranging from 300 to, 600
ppm in hanging wall and from 1500 to 2500 ppm
in footwall shows a potential applicabilit1y in
local-scale exploration.
