Machine harvesting of legumes in Iran is not being done due to unsuitable
variety of the plant, lack of farmers' technical knowledge and farms of small scale sizes.Currently the plant is harvested by hand and carried to the thresher: yet application of these threshers is not common; they are few in number, and not very suitable for iran.
This presentation shows the design and construction of a suitable thresher
in size, capacity and use for Iranian farms.
With a capacity of 150 Kq/hr, the machine would have the following
advantages:
1. Requires less power.
2. Less seed breakage.
3. Ease of work and transportation.
4. Capability of coupling to a tractor: thus benefits PTO power.
But mostly, the machine is as suitable for use in experimental stations as
in small farms.
