Planning for productivity factors of Engineering Resources is the main concern that should be addressed in the training and engineering management in different organizations. Productivity of Engineering Resources, which eventually results in the organizational productivity, may be viewed from different perspectives. One of the best approaches is to study the Engineering Resources Productivity within the framework of Mental Models. Therefore, it is essential to review the factors affecting Mental Models of Engineering Resources and make plans to modify their Mental Models. Unfortunately, this concept has not yet been studied and developed comprehensively in Iran and it remains extremely under-researched. In order to attain the objectives as outlined in Iran 1404 Vision, this approach to Engineering Resources education seems imperative. So, it is deemed necessary to make plans and take due actions accordingly to educate Engineering Resource as the driving force to materialize these objectives. In this paper, while discussing the factors and parameters which influence the Mental Model of an individual as an Engineer, the question of how these factors and parameters may be affected by other sections will be identified and discussed. The factors affecting an individual's Mental Model fall under 4 categories: (1) scientific and specialized principles, (2) technical and applied skills, (3) vocational habits, and (4) the surrounding environment. The paper concludes furnishing guidelines for the improvement and betterment of the existing circumstances.
