Concrete has a special place at the current century; it has been and is the most widely used building material. Producing concrete has several environmental impacts that should be considered to prevent consequent problems. In recent years, several methods have been developed to produce concrete that is compatible with the environment and sustainable development basis. In these concretes, beside cement consumption rate and even strength, factors like durability and life cycle are considered as a quality criterion. In developed countries after the 1970’s, through industry developments, fundamental evolutions on research and education fields were performed, and other than controlling the consumption rate of concrete, using special equipments for research and special studies on microstructure of concrete was common practice. In this paper, by considering the environmental aspects of concrete, some applicable solutions for the educational future of concrete, have been studied. It shows that by using current potentials, attention to education and research in public level and academic level, considerable evolution and progression would be obtained in the concrete industry.
