Abstract

In this paper a parametric
investigation is carried out to study the
performance of annular fins made of
orthotropic materials. Effects of varying
the geometry, convective coefficient and
material properties are taken into
consideration. The fin temperature
distribution is obtained by finite
difference ADI-SOLR method. An
appropriate grid generation is employed
by the solution of Poisson’s equation to
better resolve the heat flux at the
boundaries.
