Abstract

Three iron structures were buried in the area
of Geophysical Institute of Tehran University at the depth of 0.5 to 1 meter. Based on the geometrical probabilities, which are used for the
survey design in detection processes, we designed three square grids, with 3x3, 6x6 and 9x9 meters
in dimensions. Magnetic survey was carried out at the area and magnetic anomalies were interpreted.
The probability of detection and survey expenses have been calculated for each square grid. Consequently, some important parameters were
suggested, which be considered for must
optimizing geophysical surveys in the future.
