Abstract

CaO is a well-known absorber at high temperatures. Efficiency of the process depends on kinetics of the reaction. In this study, CaO was placed inside a reaction chamber under flow of
and the weight gains of the solid samples were measured. Reaction products were analyzed both chemically
and instrumentally after different periods of time so that a pertinent kinetic model can be attributed to the system. SEM observations showed a sharp/diffuse reaction front with a mixed control regime that could be assessed through the application of the weight-gain results
