Abstract

Mn-Zn ferrites with chemical formula (Mn-Zn)Fe204 have a widespread applications in the electrical and electronics industries. These ferrites are synthesised generally by conventional method. This method which contains calcination of raw materials, is affected by several parameters such as composition and purity of the raw materials and temperature, time and atmosphere of the process. Optimization of these parameters is very important because these parameters affect
the magnetic and electrical properties of the material. In this work, first, the ratio of the raw materials for production of high purity ferrite has been optimized and then the effects of calcination temperature and atmosphere on the composition have been investigated. The magnetic properties have also been measured. Finally, suitability of the optimized process parameters for other compositions has been studied.
