The purpose of this project is the study of the natural gas {methane)steam reforming process through modeling and computer simulation.
The operating parameters will be determined and then the? effect of changing these parameters on the conversion and purity of the final products will be studied.
using computer simulation. The effect of the change in parameters will be studied along the lenght of the reactor and presented in this manner.
What is new in this project, is the emphasis On obtaining the relationships among the parameters in the selected kinetic and mathematical models and the operating conditions at any point in the reactor In most of the past simulations, average values have been used for parameters such as reaction temperature, specific heat, viscosity, molecular weight, deffusitivity effectiveness factor, etc. However, in the Present work, an attempt has been made to develop accurate and (where possible) simple relations for these parameters as a function of temperature, pressure and conversion along the length of the reactor.
