General Solution for Multi-Stage Counter-Current Separation Problems.

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to show, that it is possible to formulate any
counter-current stage-wise separation process in a general form by setting up a
matrix equation which includes the definitive equations for a particular system
under study.
The most general form would involve the computation of a large number
of partial derivatives, but for many problems it can be reduced to a less complicated
equation.
Further more a method of solution is proposed which ensures a smooth
and rapid convergence in the trial 1; error computations involved.
