Shurbil - lake ( Ardabll)
Abstract
Shurabil lake is located 106 Km. south of <
Its banks are covered with alluvium of quaternary and is some parts there are effects which
are indications of evaporated gypsum sediments (CaSO4, 2H2O) on the banks and depth as well.
The physical and chemical analysis of the water indicates that its temperature is low during the different seasons of the year and it fluctuates between 5-11 degsree Centigrades. Its PH. value is alkaline, fluctuating between 9. 5-10. 5 and its is free of C02.Its total residue is very
high (considerable quantities of sulfate and chloride.)
The physical and chemical tests on the mud of this Lake give the result that the Specific gravity of the samples is due to change between 2. 5-2. 88 and its PH. value is neuter and a little bit alkaline (7.6-7.8). Besides, in some parts of the lake there are some better quality mud (with more organic substances and less Silicate), which could be suitable for medical treatment.
From Medical point of view its water is quite useful and effective for the treatment and remedy of arthropathies, such as chronic rhumatism, lymphatism and gynecological diseases such as metrit, vaginit and also is useful in some dermatitis.
Also the mud of lake could be used for remedy of chronic arthrit, chronic gynecologi cal and men genital diseases.
Anyhow these studies indicate that the «Shurabil-Lake» regarding its geographical situation and the physical and chomical nature of its water and the mud coud be recognized of great importance for attraction of tourists and remedy purpose and so the people of Azarbaijan province could help a lot by establishment of sevearl health Centers, in which the water of and the mud of this lake will be used.
