L'utilisation de nouvaux materiaux aux Caracteristiques mecaniques elevtes
et le perfectionement Continu des methodes de Calcu1,incitent les Constructeur
a edifier des structures de plus cn plus elancees , de ce fait le probleme du
flambement prend une importance sans Cesse accrue.
La prtsente etude se rapporte a etablir les equations intrinseques d'une
poutre droite a section constante compte tenu des effets des lfforts tranchants
et normaux.
Nous avons etabli en conseqence les expressions penerales du coefficient
de rigidite a la flexion et du coefficient de repercussion compte tenu de ces
effets. afin dc faciliter utilisation de ces expressions dans les methodes de calcul
usuelles, nous donnons en annexe des tableaux numeriques courants de tous les cas
pouvant se presenter dans la pratique. Nous nous en servirons continuellement
dans les articles qui vont suivre dans les prochains numeros.

Etude de quelques Chromates doubles de type «Schoenite»

Les schoenites chromates sont parfaitement isotypes : entre elles et avec
les sulfates correspondants , ils cristallisent tous dans le systeme monoclinlque
P2 /C , avec deux motifs par maille .
Une etude thermique analogue a ete effectuee sur les chromates
doubles :
M Mg(CrO ) , 6H 0 OU M =Rb Ou Cs , La deshydration de ces
sels conduit aux tetrahydrates , aux sels anhydres qui se decomposent apres
Fusion pour donner le chromate alcalin correspoodant M Cr0 , le Chromit
de magnteium MgCr O et l'oxyde Mgo .
La stabilite thermique des chromates doubles est toujours plus faible
que celle dcs sulfates homologues , elle est cependant fortement influence par
la nature des ions monovalents ou divalents (pour les deux families de schoenites
sulfates ou chromates. )

Determination du Sr dans I'eau de pluie de Teheran et la
radioaetivite de l'eau et de l'air de Teheran.

L'eau de pluie et l'eau courante de l'environnement de Teheran a ete
collecte pendant un an. Les echantillions collectes ont ete concentres et seches
sur un platean et leur radioactivite totale a ete mesuree par un computer
G. M. 620. Le stronsium 90 a ete aussi mesure par la separation de 1' Y
(en equibbre avec Sr) utilisant du T. T. A (1'0-Thenoyltrifluoroacton)
Gomne solovant , sa radioactivite a ete mesure par le meme compreur.
Des echantillions de 200m l'air de Tehean ont ete journellement
collectes par pompage au travers d'un filtre en papier de 75 cm de diamenre.
De ce filre , grace a une pompe a vide nous avons echantillone une surface
de 2.833 cm afin de derminer la radioactivite totale de l'air , on a constate
que la radiactivite totale de l'eau de pluie est plus grande que celle de l'eau
de l'environnement de Teheran de meme pour le Sr.pendant cette periode de
mesure la radioactiviti totale de l'air de Teheran etait proportioelle aux
retombes radiocative dans la region de Teheran.

Gamma dosimetry With glass dosimeter

The Radiophotoluminescence property of some materials makes it possible
to use them for dosimetry purposes. The silver activated metaphoshate glass 1 as
an RPL dosimeter when exposed to X. or y radiations , forms
fluorescent centers with long lived states ( metastate ). The silver ions (Ag+) in
unirradiated state produces vacancies when energy is supplied by irradiation
the release of electrons leads to the formation of RPL centers. By stimulating
the crystal by the ultra - violet light 1 without destroying the RPL centres I
.an orange fluorescence is produced proportional to the absorbed dose. These
glasses can also be used for long term personal radiation monitoring. One of
the advantages of this type of crystals is that it has linear dose sensitivity
over a long range and show no fading' The relative RPL intensity is slightly
dependent on radiation energy. and completely independent on dose rate.
Another advantage is that the dose can be added up.
By heating up the crystal the fluorescent centres can be erased.
The crystal is also sensitive to neutrons. thermal neutrons are detected
through (n 1 a) reactions in Boron ,Lithium and (n, y) reaction in Silver and
Phosphorus. The intermediate and fast neutrons are detected through elastic
: scattering in Lithium anp Oxygen and through (n, p) reaction in Ag and
Phosphorus !
By covering a crystal with cadmium to supress thermcl neutrons gamma
dose can be measured. Cadmium attenuates low' energy (Kev) gamma rays.
Sn has the same attenuation factor for low energy gamma rays and has very low
absorption cross section for thermal neutrons.
In a series of experiments around the Tehran University Research
Reactor core the following measurements , using FD - RI -. I .RPL glasses and
Fluoroglass dosimeter type FGD - 3B as a measuring unit , were carried out :
1) Integral gamma decay measurement of fission products after 2 to 5
hours operation at high power (3MW).
2) Gamma intensity measurements at the, specified distances from the
edge of the core in ten (10) holders fixed. to an alluminium bar (fig 1) .
,3) The; study of heating up the crystal !(FD-RI-I) up' to 400~C. The
experimental results show that the FD ~Rl- 1 crystal loses about 10% of its
total dose after 10 minutes being at 200°0 , about 40% at 320°0 and 100%
at ,400°0 for the same heating time (Fig 2).
4) The sensitivity of a fission chamber to gamma radiation from the
fission fragments in the core was determined. The identical fission chamber is
used for starting up the reactor. The ordinary counting system and three FDRI
-1 crystals , one eovered with lmm thick cadmium one covvered with lmm
thick Sn and third bare, were placed at the same place as the fission chamber
for neutron and gamma dose measurements. From these measurements it was
found that the fission chamber has a sensitivity of only O. 1% to the core
gammas as compared to the fission neutrons travelled 30 cm in water.

Heavy Mineral Studies of Astaneh Area SouthWest of Araq

Heavy minerals have been separated from a series of fluvial sediment
samples collected from the river channels of the Astaneh" area. A moderately
positive correlation was found between heavy mineral assemblages and adjacent
rock types.
The heavy minerals of this area have a granite origin and are found in
river sands, have a specific gravity of 2.9 and greater. Some of these minerals
like amphibole group and pyroxene group, etc. lack significant economic value,
while others like gold , scheelite , cassiterite and cinnabar are of some economic
value.
Important economic .minerals in the studied samples were gold. cinnabar,
cassiterite , scheelite , chalcopyrite , galena , corundum, realgar , chrysoberyl,
and malachite. From the above mentioned minerals gold and scheelite were
known in the area from the early stages.
The granitic body in the area has intruding mineralized veins of
pegmatite and quartz' Minerals like cassiterite , chrysoberyl, and corundum
are associated with pegmatites , and other minerals like chalcopyrite, galena,
cinnabar•, and realgar are from hypothermal I origin.
Cinnabar is found in small quantities in the alluvium deposits of the
area. Coarse grains and soft nature of cinnabar is an indication of a close
detrital source containing it.

Die Entwicklungstendenz des metalurgischen Prozesses unter
besonderer Beriicksichtigung der Stahlerzeugung

Es wird gezeigt, dass bei der standiger Zunahme der Production von
Roheisen ,die fast ausschliesslich in Hochofen erfolgt, der Gestelldurchmesser
und die Ofeneinheit zunimmt demgegenuber der spezifische Brennstoffverbrauch
abnimmt. Weiterhin wird die Entwicklungsrichtung der Stahlerzeungsverfanren
wegen der wirtschaftlichen und technischen Hinsicht untersucht und festgestellt,
dass nuter verschiedenen Stahlerzeugungsverfahren (Bessemer, Thomas ,
Siemens-Martin , LD.Konverter , usw.) in Zukunft ausschliesslich der LD-Konverter
in frage kommt, Die Untersuchungen zeigen ferner dass der spezifische
Baukosten von Sauerstoffaufblas- Konverter mit der Zunahme von Rohstahl ,
erzeugung abnimmt, Die Einheiten der Reaktoren kann aber aus technischen
Grunden nicht beliebig vergrossert werden , so dass fur die Wirschaftlichkeit
der metalurgischen Prozess anderen Moglichkeiten gesucht werden muss.
Die spezifische Aufteilung einer Schmelzperiode in einem Lfr-Konveter
und ebenfalls der Arbeitsablauf sowohl In Sinteranlage wie auch in der
Roheisenerzeuzung , Stahlerzeugung usw. zeigt dass die meiste zeit fur ein
und ausfullen der Roheisen , Schrott , Schlacke , Stahl usw. in Anspruch
genommen wird. Auf Grund der Bilanzrechnung kame in der Zukunft bezuglich der WirtschaftIichkeit nur die kontinuierliche Stahlerz eugungs in Frage, Heute
werden Verschidenen Vorschlage fur die Entwicklung der Kontinutat des
metallurgischen Prozesses gemacht . Ferner werden Verschiedenen Methoden
in halbtechnische Einheiten untersucht , In diesem Bericht wurden einige
Methoden der kontinuierlichen Stahen Stahlerzeugungsverfahren(IRSID-Verfahren,BISRA Verfahren Vorschlage nach Schenk und Mitarbeiter) und eine
kontinuierliche Stahlerzeugung mit Eisenschwam im Elektroofen kurz beschrieben.
