It is shown that the Hilbert's infinitedimensional space, which has a broa(
application in modern Analysis & Theoretical Physics (specially in Quantum
Mechanics) is the result of some modification in one of the Weyl's axioms. It is
further shown that the semiEuclidean space of Minkowski, which is the mathematical
basis of Einstein's Relativity is also the result of the modification of another axiom of
Weyl's geometry.
The change of the definition of some of the structural elements of 3dimensional
vector space & 3 dimensional Euclidean space (such as for example defining
the points as subspace of a I dimensional space, the line as subspace of a 2dimensional
space, ... ) enables the access to the plane projectif geometry and plane nonEuclidean
RiemannLobachevski's geometry.
Finally with due consideration to the Weyl's scientific point of view at
through the study of the adaptation of the Weyl's geometry to the future of scientif
demands it has become evident that his geometry shall replace, sooner or later,
other existing geometries.

Continental Drift, Geology of the ocean floor and

The theory of Continental Drift is introduced and the similarity of the
shape of the edges of the continents is illustrated from Bullard et. al. and Smith and
Hallam. The Geological similarities among the southern continents and also between
the Caledonian and Appalachian orogens are briefly mentioned.
A short Summary of oceanfloor topography and geology is then given
and extended to the concept of OceanFloor Spreading. The supporting evidence
from magnetic anomalies in the oceans, reversals of the earth's magnetic field,
distribution of earthquakes and their focal mechanisms are summarised and their
relations with transform Faults are explained.
The theory of plate Tectonics then described and its implications for the
mechanism of the development of island arcs and mountain belts are very briefly
mentioned. It is pointed out that the application of Plate Tectonics has some of
the geological problems of of the continents such as the Franciscan Melange of
the western U.S.A. and also the history of the Uralides; and that it could be used
to interpret the geology of Iran.

This nomograph allows you to find the vapor composition of a twocomponent
mixture based on a known liquid phase composition and the vapor pressure
of both components.
The nomograph is based on Raoult's Law using the following equation:
Y =
where:
YA=Mole fraction of component A in the vapor phase
XA=Mole fraction of component A in the liquid phase
PA= Saturated vapor pressure of component A at a given temperature,
mmHg
PB= Saturated vapor pressure of component B at a given temperature ,mmHg

The buckling properties of uniform beamcolumns resting on regular elastic

the final solutions satisfy both the governing equation of bending and the prescribed
boundary conditions

Passivity of Metals

Under mildly oxidizing conditions, some metals exhibit the property of
passivity. Passivity is a state of electrochemical inactivity which is probably
caused by a layer of metal oxide or adsorbed oxygen on the metal surface.
Examples of metals displaying activepassive transitions are iron ,chromium ,nickel
and titanium.
In this paper the shape of the anodic polarization curve for an active passive
metal is discussed, and the importance of the Flade potential and the
critical passivating current density is illustrated.
Since passivity provides metals with a natural corrosion resistance, methods
for achieving passivity have been investigated. The following methods have been
discussed:
a Alloying Iron with chromium, nickel and molybdenum to produce the
stainless steels.
b Addition of passivators to liquids in contact with Iron.
c Noblemetal alloying for improving the corrosion resistance of titanium
and chromium in deaerated acid solutions.
In addition, the breakdown of passivity by chloride Ions has been briefly
described.

A New Electrical Analog Method to Study TwoDimensional

An electrical network model consisting of electrical resistances is used to
demonstrate the steady and twodimensional heat conduction field in solids. The
governing equation being Fourier's field equation of conduction in partial deferential
form is replaced by a finitedifference equation with the help of this network. The
nodal points of the network are connected to a set of sockets on the same board
as the resistances. Different geometrical shapes can be formed by connecting these
sockets together. A DC electric current is supplied to the model in order to
stimulate an electrical field analogous to the heat conduction field.
Experiments on a rectangular fin and a chimney crosssections arc reported.
The advantages of present model over the electrolyticbath and the conducting
paper models are shown. It is possible to build a network model to study the heat
conduction in nonisotropic solids. This method also can be easily extended to take
care of unsteady heat conduction conditions.

Semiconductors are used in photovoltaic energy converters to produce
electric energy. Solar cell is not a heat engine ,however, it is rather a quantum
mechanical device. A single crystal of semiconductor material is doped in such
a manner that the bottom portion of the crystal is ntype and the top is ptype.
if we illuminate this thin wafer with light of a given frequency a holeelectron
is produced which diffuses towards the pn junction, i.e. the transition region.
if a resistor (i.e. electrical load) is placed in the circuit to connect this (pn) junction
an electric current will pass from that. In this device solar energy is converted
directly to electric power.
